Martin Schlatter Villiger, the co-founder and decade long R&D head of the European mobile services pioneer MINICK joins Montages as COO. Martin holds a master degree in physics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ), and co-founded MINICK AG in 1998 during his studies. Leading a technical team of around 15 software engineers, he was responsible to architect and create a highly scalable messaging and mobile internet infrastructure processing up to 5 million messages per hour. Building on this core technology, MINICK's revenue grew from €2m to €35m. MINICK today is a highly successful international player in the mobile services market with a European footprint and a growing global customer base.

Over the years Martin has realized that Business Modeling, especially glossaries and taxonomies, and their implementation in Service Oriented Architectures, following standards such as ITIL were becoming key for delivering premium quality services in the highly competitive international telecoms markets. An important driver of MINICK's success were the Domain Specific Languages for business modeling, contract specification and for the rapid creation of mobile application services developed by his R&D group.

The founders and the management team sold MINICK to SWISSCOM in December 2006, and helped the new owner to integrate the client and technology portfolio. Martin then decided to join Montages AG as COO: "Joining Montages AG allows me to contribute to a company that addresses the critical topic of business terminology, rules and requirements analysis. I experienced over and over again as we scaled our increasingly complex service models how important it was to bridge the gap between the so called "demand side" or "Business" and the "supply side" or "IT" in order to make sustainable business progress... Moving my focus from the supply side of SOA based IT services to the demand side is a logical and very exciting step for me!"

Martin will extend Montages’ leadership in business architecture consulting to bring the company to the next level of growth. Philipp Kutter, Montages’ CEO, believes that "Martin is ideal for this role because he presents a unique combination of entrepreneurial spirit, technical excellence, and business intuition to lead our operations through the current global business challenges. He will help us make our vision of Solutioning a reality!" Marc Moser, the CTO of Montages appreciates that "Martin understands the deep meaning of our focus on Business Modeling and Architecture, while being able to manage risks and opportunities of our more technical projects."
